About Us

Sequoia Orchids and Redwoods is a family owned and operated wholesale nursery in Humboldt, CA. We take great pride in our commitment to growing healthy, reliable trees. Being in the heart of the redwood belt helps our operation.  For over a decade, we have grown Redwood cultivars of Sequoia sempervirens. Landowners prefer this species nowadays over seed-grown trees for the purpose of large-scale replanting. Our laboratory-to-greenhouse operation is specialized for the mass production of redwoods with known growth traits, reduced pathogen risks, and proven durability when planted in the field.

It all started when our company founder, Roy Wittwer, fell in love with a group of orchids known as Cymbidiums during his teenage years in the 1940’s. Because we are an Sudden Oak Death (SOD) Free Certified Nursery, our trees are permitted to be planted by commercial landowners.
